The partners and staff of McAlpine Booth & Ferrier Interiors:
Bobby McAlpineBorn in the Alabama sawmill town of Vredenburgh near Beatrice and Monroeville, Bobby designed his first house at the age of five and hasn’t stopped since. Architect, romantic, and entrepreneur, he has gathered an eclectic family of professionals for his interior design firm, furniture line and world-renowned widely-published architecture firm now in its 30th year. Bobby is the author of the best-selling book from Rizzoli International, The Home Within Us.
Ray BoothRay Booth is an Alabama native and a graduate of the Auburn University School of Architecture. His affiliation with the company began during a student internship. After a successful pursuit of his career in New York working for such respected names as John Saladino, he returned to the south as a business partner in the interior design firm with his former professor Bobby McAlpine. Ray divides his time between the firm’s Nashville office and his home in New York which he shares with his partner John. His eager mind and energetic spirit are fed, not only through his demanding work and interaction with clients, but through his frequent travels and personal adventures. Ray finds great perspective keeping one foot in the fast lane of the big city and other in his native slower paced south.
Susan FerrierSusan is a native New Yorker who found herself graduating from interior design school in the deep south. Her varied life experience has caused her to be an exceptionally intuitive and perceptive designer, all of which led to a partnership with Bobby and Ray in the year 2000. Susan oversees her projects, with great humor and respect, through her Atlanta-based office of the firm. She and her husband, Adrian, a native of New Zealand, spend their free time either traveling or planning the next trip, so much so that their passports read like the table of contents of National Geographic. Susan and Adrian make their home just outside Atlanta.
Jackie CollitonJackie was born in Holland, reared in Ohio and has called New York City home throughout her adult life. She graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology with a degree in Interior Design and continued her studies at the Parsons School of Design. Jackie has a solid background having worked for several prestigious design firms such as Naomi Leff, Mark Hampton and John Saladino, where she met Ray Booth. Jackie had her own design firm at one time but prefers working with other professionals and enjoys the camaraderie an office has to offer. She and Ray Booth stayed in touch over the years and always talked about working together someday. The opportunity presented itself and she joined the firm in 2010. Jackie lives with her husband, photographer Paul O. Colliton, and their son, Billy, in Tribeca where they enjoy everything the city has to offer.
Liz BonesioLiz loves a road trip, especially a cross-country one and for good reason: she was born in Colorado, raised in Connecticut and after spending few years in Arizona she and her husband, Ethan and son, Percy have made their home in Nashville, TN. After settling in Nashville, Liz received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from O’More College of Design. And like many before her, she began her tenure at MBF as an intern and has never left. In any spare time Liz can be found outside tending to the plants in her extensive perennial garden. Besides keeping her feet in the dirt, Liz is a great cook and fills her home with delicious goodness to the delight of her family and friends. Liz and Ethan are eagerly awaiting the arrival of a daughter in November.
Jessica MooreJessica, who is originally from Alaska, grew up, in stark contrast, mostly on the beaches of Florida’s gulf coast. After earning an Associates Degree in business from St. Petersburg College, Jessica decided she needed to change her career path to a more creative one. She moved to Atlanta in 2004 to attend the Art Institute. While there and through a happy coincidence, she began an internship with McAlpine Booth & Ferrier that continued until she completed her Bachelor’s in Interior Design in 2007. After working in the field for a short time, Jessica returned to McAlpine Booth & Ferrier, where she has worked ever since. Jessica spends most of her free time with her friends, family and pets. She travels often to Florida and loves boating, watching movies, antique shopping, traveling, and renovating houses (a decade long passion). She is currently renovating a two storey 1910 home in Atlanta with her mother, Betty, who moved to Atlanta in 2007 to be near Jessica.
Mary GirtonMary, a Tennessee native, brings over ten years of varied management and technological experience to the firm having managed departments for The Tennessean Newspaper, Dell Computer Corporation, and SmartDM (now owned by Acxiom). She graduated from Tennessee Technological University with a Bachelor of Science in Business. Mary decided to make a change to a ‘less corporate’ environment where she could use her management skills and build relationships in a new industry. In the office, she concentrates on operational matters as managing purchasing and shipping for projects, along with various tasks thrown her way. She is married to Philip and they have one daughter, Maril. When not working or enjoying family life, Mary is expressing herself through her gardening and painting.
Lindsay GriffyLindsay is the front line of the Music City office of MBF. She juggles a myriad of office tasks all with the grace of a southern belle and the efficiency of the most sophisticated brand of software. Lindsay is a rare commodity to the office not only for her skill but because she is a native Nashvillian. She graduated from Lipscomb University majoring in business management after being a “lifer” at the school, having been there since 1st grade. Lindsay is married to Patrick Griffy, and they share their home with Beau, their Frisbee-chasing Welsh Corgi. She enjoys reading, cooking, running and spending time with family and friends.
Meredith MillsMeredith hails from the small town of Milan in west Tennessee and graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Architecture and Design. During her time at the university she participated in a study abroad program at the Danish Institute in Copenhagen spending five months studying Scandinavian design and traveling throughout Europe. Following an internship at the Knoll showroom in San Francisco, Meredith came to work as an intern for MBF and the rest is history. Meredith loves to travel in her free time and her appetite for travel continues to be fed by MBF with many international design projects- she already has several under her belt and more on the way. When she is not traveling you can find Meredith working on her condo that she recently purchased downtown or strolling her new neighborhood with her pup, a black lab mix named Ryman.
John AndersonJohn is native of Alabama and a graduate of Auburn University. Like many McAlpine employees before him, he started work with the company as an intern. However, John started a little earlier than most. His first integration into the McAlpine world was right after high school with summer employment with McAlpine Tankersley in Montgomery. His academic pursuits took him to Auburn and then an internship with McAlpine Booth & Ferrier in Nashville. Along the way, John studied media arts, philosophy and history in Ariccia, Italy, an early Roman town in the Alban Hills of Lazio just south of Rome. He also self directed himself in drawing and design based on the rich environment around him. John had the privilege of being involved in the design of the student lofts at the Palazzo di Chigi in Arricia that included a follow up trip to get the design off the ground. He describes his Roman experience as fabulous, literally. John moved to Brooklyn in 2012 to work in the NYC office. In his spare time, John plays the piano, plays tennis and attempts to keep up with his very active two-year-old black lab, Francis.
Betty MooreBetty, a native of Oregon, brings many years of bookkeeping and management experience to the firm. She is fortunate enough to have lived in both Alaska and the gulf coast of Florida while raising her family of three children and is now rooted in Atlanta where she is renovating a ca. 1910 home with her daughter Jessica. It was through Jessica that Betty was introduced to Susan Ferrier and is now fulfilling the role of Office Manager for the firm’s Atlanta studio. When not sanding layers of paint off old window sashes, you can find Betty enjoying reading a thick novel or doing yard work. She is always looking forward to the next trip to Alaska to visit her five grandchildren who reside there.

After graduating and working in Miami for a high-end residential design firm she moved to Atlanta to continue pursuing her career. She currently lives in the always evolving Westside neighborhood of Atlanta and loves to travel and try new restaurants, only to recreate the dishes at home.
